I've been a raw vegan chef and consumer for over 3 years now. I got turned onto raw vegan food in 2006 when I went on a retreat to the Optimal Health Institute in San Diego. I'd just quit smoking cigarettes in Dec., 2005, was over 50 years old and in the middle of menopause....and I lost 15 lbs. in the 2 weeks I was there. I was AMAZED!
