Day 10: This is getting easy.

Yes, it is. Planning is easier. I start the day with water or diluted tea, and then I juice. Today I had carrot/celery/tomato/fennel juices. I love, love, love that fennel. Had 4 quarts of it today.

I also had 2 quarts of diluted Rooibos tea, 2 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice, plus 2 quarts of a fresh orange juice/coconut water combo. Oh my, that was tasty (as Rock, my brother, would say!).

I picked oranges and lemons today from friends' trees. Lovely fruits, all of them. I came home from the orange picking and immediately washed and juiced some of the oranges. I love their sweet/tart flavor.

Did a water only E today...still releasing solid matter. It comes late in the releasing so it must be up higher in my body. I'll do one more CE on Sunday, and then reduce the E's from daily to every 3 or 4 days.

Drove up to SF for a social event in a Landmark Wisdom Unlimited course; was fun to be there but was surrounded by people coughing and sneezing! YIKES! My travelling companion also became sick, so we left after about 2 hours. We stopped at Whole Foods in San Mateo to get her some juice as she was feeling quite ill from a fever and stuffy head. I got a large bottle of Odwalla Tangerine Juice and drank it on the way home to reduce the opportunity of being exposed to all those bug particulates in the air! No, it wasn't raw, and yes, I drank it to start to flush my system. I'll get some more fresh juice on Sunday.

I feel great; balanced, calm and happy.

Day 9: How it's going

Here I am at Day 9. I've had lots of questions about how I feel, etc. Here's the skinny:
I sleep better and don't wake up wishing I could sleep more.
The pain in my lower joints, especially in my ankles has nearly dissipated.
A wound I've had on my right shin for a VERY long time (months) has almost completely healed.
An itchy rash I've had just below the aforementioned wound has almost completely disappeared.
I've lost 14 pounds.
I am much less frequently irritated by the other occupants on the planet.
Lots of gurgling in the belly - fun to listen to.

Today's report;
When I awoke this morning, I immediately drank down a quart of diluted Rooibos tea. I love that stuff. About 90 minutes later, I had my first juice of the day, while making a bunch of celery juice, and added cinnamon to the plain celery juice. A different and delightful combo. Cinnamon is good for balancing blood sugar. I had a second quart with some nutmeg and Himalayan salt in it and it was yummy.

Did the CE at about 1:30 and noted that I'm still passing solid matter. I must be releasing stuff that's been lodged in the ol' intestines!

My 3rd quart, at about 2 pm, was a carrot/celery/cucumber/onion/tomato/red bell pepper juice. I added a touch of Himalayan salt and rosemary to it. Delish.

Met a friend at 3 pm to create the opportunity of sharing transformation to a non-profit and drank some hot tea.

At 5:30 I had part of my 4th quart and headed off to the movies. When I got home, I had the rest of it and was in bed, ready to sleep by 10.

Day 8: FENNEL, FENNEL, FENNEL!!!

Wow, fennel is such a great addition to the juices. Just one bulb, with all the stalks and fronds, added a sweet licorice taste to 6 quarts of juice (for me, and 2 others), that was really, really yummy!

Today was much easier, since I couldn't get ENOUGH of the fennel!

I drank 4 quarts of juice from: celery, carrots, gold beets, tomatoes, cucumber, FENNEL, key lime juice and meyer lemon juice. Oh - I tossed in a bit of onion and red bell pepper too!

2 quarts of diluted Rooibos tea and 2 cups of coconut water rounded out my liquid day. YUM!

Did a CE in the afternoon; today I was able to hold it for a bit instead of having to release it right away.

I had a 6-hour work day at my Thrivin' Edibles kitchen, and did have a tiny, really tiny, taste of a dark chocolate pudding I made. By tiny, I mean not even an eighth of a teaspoon.

I felt great all day; up at 6:30, worked, went over to the Landmark Education Center for 3 hours to work with Clarice in the evening, had an hour-long coaching call after that, watched Jon Stewart, and was in bed, sleeping at midnight. I awoke from the alarm at 6 today (Friday).

For you who want to know, I've lost 14 pounds. In 8 days.

Onward! (as my mom used to say!)

Day 7: Better planning today!

By George, I think she's got it!

Planning, planning, Planning. Here's what I planned today, and what I actually did:

6:30 am. Up and drink diluted Rooibos tea - did it.
8 am: Start first juice - did it.
10 am: Drink another diluted Rooibos tea - did it.
1 pm: CE - did it.
2 pm: Drink 3 cups of diluted Rooibos tea - did it
3 pm: Drink another quart of veggie juice - didn't do it.
5 pm: Drank the juice, finally, and wondered when I'd drink the final one.
7 pm: Drink a quart of diluted Rooibos tea - did it.
8 pm: Start 4th quart of veggie juice: did it. It's almost 10 pm and am still nursing it. I have about 2 more cups to drink.

I added a tablespoon of flaxseed oil to 5 pm quart and it was really too much. I had a hard time getting it down as it felt too rich. I did get it down though, and added just a teaspoon of oil to the 8 pm quart.

Veggie juice today: Celery, gold beets, beet greens, meyer lemon juice, key lime lemon juice. The citrus really makes it wonderful.

I also added a cup of orange/tangerine/meyer lemon juice to one of the latter Rooibos teas...smashingly good!

I added MSM to most of my drinks today too, as well as a bit of di-potassium phosphate. I'm almost out of that so must get more tomorrow.

Over all I feel good, though still dealing with mucus at both ends of the tube. It's not constant, as it was earlier in this endeavor. My teeth are also feeling less furry.

Tomorrow starts week 2! Yea...thanks for reading!

Day 6: Gathering

Awake at 5 again, after going to sleep at about 10:30 last night. Feel good...my intestional rumblings have stopped! Drank a quart of Rooibos tea first thing, and then started SLOWLY on a quart of veggie juice! Two people asked to join me for the week with veggie juices so went over to the kitchen to get more celery, beets and spinach juiced. Mary and Shawn came by and got their quarts.

I juiced some Meyer lemons and Key Limes and added that juice to my juice, and OMG...was it wonderful! I'm going to do that again tomorrow. Maybe even put it in my tea....wow...dat's what I have to say!

By 1:30 I finished one more quart of juice. I gave myself a CE at around 2.
By 3:30, I got distracted and did not drink anymore juice. I did drink quite a bit of water, and another quart of Rooibos tea. Right now, at nearly 1 am on Wednesday, I feel fine.

I was reminded tonight that I need to down some fresh oil, so tomorrow I will add it to one of my juices.

Day 5: I gotta plan better!

Awake at 5 and drank a quart of Rooibos tea. Got to the kitchen and made juice for the day and had a quart of it pretty early - probably by 7. Ingredients: Celery, gold beets, apple, spinach. I had lots of orders at my Thrivin' Edibles kitchen, so I wasn't watching the clock for me to drink my juice. Drank another 3 cups while on the road delivering at 2 (big time gap there!) and a quart of water. I had 2 more quarts of juice with me from celery, beet greens, kale veins, bok choy.

As I was driving home, around 4:30, I gulped down a quart of the juice. BAD IDEA! It went through me way too fast! I mean really fast - same color in and out - and in 20 minutes from consumption. OY!

Tomorrow, I will time the consumption better, and drink smaller amounts more often!

Today I consumed almost 3 quarts of juice, and 2 quarts of other liquid (tea, water), and a double shot of Wheatgrass around 8, to replenish the good flora in my intestines after that early 'flush'!

Scratchy throat today, and a lot of phlegm still. Using the scraper on my tongue and brushing my teeth more often. Someone had said that teeth might feel furry the first few days...and...well...they do.

No CE today.

Told someone I was juice feasting today and she said I should be euphoric by Day 6. I'll let ya know................

Day 4: What was I thinking?

Up early today - to get ready for a raw food prep class I was leading. Had a quart of Rooibos tea, and a pint of celery juice. Got my paperwork done for the class, went grocery shopping, and got everything set up for the class. The 7 participants were a blast, we had a blast, and I couldn't sample a thing! What was I thinking?

Fortunately I've made all the recipes many times. The participants were oohing and aahing...That's a good thing.

I made juice at the kitchen before I came home: 2 quarts of juice from celery, Roma tomatoes, 1/4 onion, zucchini and some lemon and lime juice! YUMMY! I've had one quart so far tonight, and I'll have the other before I got to bed, and leave a quart of Rooibos tea on the bedside table.

And...I got a tongue scaper today - my tongue is VERY coated (no vest or pants though). And I have a lot of phleghm. Yuck. Kinda makes me wish I knew how to spit, like a guy!

I gave myself a coffee enema (CE) at 5 tonight; I'm hoping that's not too late in the day! We'll find out, won't we?
